Frequently Asked Questions

Q: This is my first website, what should I consider?

It's best not to get unnecessarily complex. Understand your market, and communicate your ideas clearly to your designer. How do you want your company perceived? Dependable? Innovative? Energetic? Speak your mind! Any favourite websites, tell us!

Q: What are "Domain Name" and "Hosting"?

Your domain name is the address that people type into their browsers to find your website. For example, our domain name is 'www.rtsproductions.info'. Domain names must be unique and registered annually. Registration generally costs around $45.00 per year. Unpaid fees cause the ownership of the domain name to lapse, and the name becomes available for others to acquire. We can assist you in acquiring your domain name of choice, drop us a line to find out more.

Hosting is a service provided by a company which stores your website information on a remote computer server, and serves it to people via the internet when they request your site.

You must have a registered domain name and hosting account to have your website online.

Q: How will I manage my website?

We offer a content management service, whereby we can keep your website up to date for you, with changes you email through to us. Contact us to find out more about how we can assist you.

Q: How will I receive my site?

We will normally load your website directly onto your hosts server, and get your site running live for you.

Q: What is the design turnaround time?

Turnaround time for site design takes roughly 2-3 weeks, depending on your package and complexity of your design, the schedules of our designers, and the rate at which we receive feedback from you. Your designer will provide an accurate start and completion date for your project upon receipt of all relevant documents. To speed up the process, have most of the text you want on your site ready for us to input.

Q: Who owns the copyright on the graphics and site design?

Once payment has been made in full, your business or you owns the copyright to the website files. We reserve the right to use snapshots of your website / design in our portfolio, or for promotional purposes.

Q: What are XHTML, CSS and Javascript?

XHTML stands for eXtensible HyperText Markup Language, and is the language that most websites are coded in. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets, and is an extended means of styling websites for maximum control over layout and graphics. Javascript is a scripting language for the web, used for visual effects, assistance in web applications and form validation.

Q: Can I speak with my designer on the telephone?

Yes but sometimes it is easier to interact using email or text as both parties can have a copy of any dialogue for reference, also email is a more efficient and cost effective method for global communication.

Q: What payment types do you accept?
